Mackney Photography

IMG_6854email The Mackney brothers have always loved photography from an early age. Richard Mackney built a darkroom in the family shed and could often be found developing black and white film late into the night. Simon was usually found knocking on the shed door, trying his hardest to peek through the blackout blinds trying to learn what it was all about.

Pretty Polly / House of Holland by Henry Holland photoshoot Once Simon got his hands on the lense there was no stopping him, his career path was set and after studying photography it wasn't long before he was winning his first photography awards. He landed his first job in industrial photography and learnt from the best in their field. Continuously looking to push the boundaries with film and darkroom processing and then evolving with the times into a highly skilled digital photographer and manipulator. With the help of The Princes Trust, Simon set up a photography business over seven years ago and has been developing mackney photography to where it is today with an amazing drive-in studio based in Derby.

The Drive in Studio Richard started a Derby based web development company in 2002, he is still heavilly involved in mackney photography but most of his photography is of a non-commercial nature. Richard currently focusses on the business development side of the business (the boring bits).
